1st February 2013

For the first time filmmaker Karan Johar is going to work with 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar in a film that will be directed by Punit Malhotra.

The film consist of two actors, one of which is yet to be confirmed. The shooting for the same is touted to hit the floors early next year.

All excited to work with Akshay, KJo said, "I can't divulge too much now. But what I can definitely say is that the movie is mainstream and has a very strong underlying social message. It is solid and hard hitting. Punit brought me this amazing script. I immediately approached Akshay and he was equally thrilled with the idea."

"If Dharma Productions has to collaborate with Akshay, then it has to be the right kind of film. And, as I said earlier, this one, apart from being commercial, has a strong voice," he further added.

In terms of the film Akshay said, "We are two very passionate producers with one great aim; to entertain. Both Karan and I want to make our fathers proud."

This will be Punit's third film as his directorial debut was 'I Hate Luv Storys' and his second will be 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' with Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan.
