Interesting plot with an abrupt climax

Bejoy Nambiar has surely made an interesting flick, but it could have been better if it had some logic, some purpose to it. All the 3 David's are struggling in the entire movie to bring their lives on track. However, unlike a typical Bollywood film, no David is able to.

Neil Nitin Mukesh is looking his best and also acted his best. Vikram is born and brought up in Goa and all that he survives on is alcohol. From his opening shot to whenever he is on screen, he has either a Bagpiper or some random hard drink in his hand and is never stable.

Remember Pratiek Babbar from 'Jaane tu ya jaane na?'. Vinay Virmani has exactly the same look as Pratiek did, but has performed a lot better than him. Lara Dutta as Neelam, who is Vinay's student, looks elegant, but acting seemed dull as compared to the other actors.

Isha Sharvani plays Roma, who is the love interest of Vikram and his friend Peter. She is deaf and mute in the movie, but has expressed beautifully and looks like a princess each time you see her onscreen.

Tabu as Frenny is Vikram's best friend and the only person with who he can share everything. Her character is good, but also irritating at the same time as the conversations between Vikram and Tabu come up after almost every scene.

The screenplay and editing by Sreekar Prasad has been done well and the jumps from Neil's 1970's scene to Vinay's 1990's scene are crisp and well understood.

Music of the film is okay, with some interesting songs like 'Mast Kalandar' and 'Maria Pitache'.

Overall, watch 'David' only if you are ready to be really alert, or else be prepared to be left confused in the end.
