Alec Baldwin has apologised to fellow passengers on the flight he was ejected from this week.
Despite his personal address to those on the American Airlines plane with him, the Hollywood actor refused to say sorry to the airline or the flight staff.
Alec posted a note to the Huffington Post which directly addressed the passengers on the flight. They were consequently delayed by his refusal to stop playing a cell phone game.
"First off, I would like to apologise to the other passengers onboard the American Airlines flight that I was thrown off of yesterday," he wrote. "It was never my intention to inconvenience anyone with my 'issue' with a certain flight attendant."
Alec drew attention to the decline of service on flights. The 30 Rock star believes it has deteriorated following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
"Filthy planes, barely edible meals, cuts in jet service to less-travelled locations," he explained.
"September 11th was a horrific day in the airline industry, yet in the wake of that event, I believe carriers and airports have used that as an excuse to make the air travel experience as inelegant as possible.
"The lesson I've learned is to keep my phone off when the 1950's gym teacher is on duty. That was my fault there, even though this trip was quite a bit different from so many others. But it is sad, I think, that you've got to fly overseas today in order to bring back what has been thrown overboard by US carriers in terms of common sense, style, and service."
According to the plane crew however, Alec was rightly ejected from the plane at LAX. They believe his behaviour called for it.
"The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding," they wrote in a statement yesterday.
Alec had taken to his Twitter page after the dispute to vent his frustration, but later deactivated his account.
"The flight attendant on American reamed me out for playing Words With Friends while we sat at the gate, not moving," Alec tweeted. "No wonder American Air is bankrupt.
"But oddly, 30 Rock plays in-flight on American. The real way is United,.
