(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alec Baldwin wants to "move on" from 30 Rock.
The American actor has starred as Jack Donaghy in the popular NBC sitcom since 2006.
Alec has revealed his contract ends after the upcoming sixth season, but there's a possibility the show might be extended for another year.
However, the Emmy Award-winning star is unsure about committing to another series.
"I might," he told radio station WNYC. "I wouldn't want to prevent them from having another year, because they're all my friends and they've been good to me. Maybe I would do a piece of the year. But I really do want to move on to other things."
Alec is preparing to work with New York public radio on an interview show that will be available via podcast starting later this month.
The first interview posted will be with actor Michael Douglas. He will also be speaking with Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins, Kris Kardashian Jenner, and Chris Rock to name a few.
Alec has also spoken about getting involved in politics. The 53-year-old would need to dedicate a significant amount of time to that though.
"I have to finish what I'm doing now and separate these two parts of my life," he said. "I haven't really formalised that. It's like the difference between going to Jon Stewart and Jim Lehrer. The jokes have to stop, everything has to be on the record."
For now, Alec appreciates his life and the success of his varied career. The Hollywood comedy star has joked that he's even tricked people into thinking he is humorous.
"The life I have now is not going to get any better," he said.
"I have a great job. Everybody thinks I'm funny. I'm fooling everybody. They think I'm talented. I'm pulling the wool over everybody's eyes and they're paying me for it. It's thrilling." (C) Cover Media
