November 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):In a grand ceremony concluded in China on Saturday evening, Alexandria Mills of the United States of America has been crowned the new Miss World 2010. The 18-year-old resident of Louisville, Kentucky, who has just completed her high school was ecstatic to say the least after being named the winner. Alexandria Mills defeated 100 other contestants in the pageant which goes by the motto of beauty with a purpose. The other representatives making it to the top 5 along with Alexandria Mills were China, Botswana, Venezuela and Ireland.

In a statement given to the media after the crowning ceremony, Alexandria Mills described herself as a very soft spoken person who loves travelling and music. Miss USA says that she would love to educate her society and for this reason she would want to adopt teaching as her profession. At 18 years of age, Alexandria Mills was one of the youngest contestants aiming for the Miss World crown and at such a tender age, it is but natural that she be a foodie! However Miss USA says that she is a complete vegetarian and savors Italian food the most, especially varieties of pasta.

This being the fifth time in eight years, China is slowly emerging as the most preferred location to host the Miss World pageant.
