(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ali Larter "loves being a mom" even though taking care of her baby makes her feel extremely "tired" at times.
Ali and her husband Hayes MacArthur welcomed son Theodore into the world seven months ago. Since his birth, Ali and her spouse have been striving hard to be good parents.
"I think of us as a very modern day couple. [Hayes] loves being a father and I love being a mom so it's something that we enjoy," Ali told People during a Rebuilding Together and Carter's Kids event in San Fernando, California, on Wednesday. "We don't think of it as this duty that we have to do. We both enjoy being part of raising [our son] and it's great to have a partner in life like that."
Life as a mother with a newborn son is not all easy for Ali. Her busy schedule can leave her fatigued, but she has enough energy and optimism to see her through.
"I am tired!" said Ali in the midst of helping to facilitate the event. "I was with the baby and I wanted to be out here actually, working more, but as any mom knows, sometimes they pick your schedule out for the day."
Even though she is an industrious working mother, Ali admits that leaving her son home can be difficult. In fact, as Theodore grows older leaving him gets tougher.
"It's always hard to leave, but he's still pretty tiny," said Ali. "He's sitting up, but he's not running around or talking yet, so I think that it does get harder and harder."
With all this new pressure, Ali still takes good care of herself. In her opinion, nursing is incredibly salubrious and a helpful way to get back to optimum health after giving birth.
"Breastfeeding is definitely helpful," said Ali. "I'm still nursing so I feel like you don't want to get too thin because you're taking care of the baby." (C) Cover Media
