Amber Heard says Johnny Depp "lights up a room".

The actress has been linked to the Hollywood star following the end of his 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis.

Amber and Johnny become close after they shot the 2011 movie The Rum Diary together and she has visited him on the set of his new movie The Lone Ranger in New Mexico.

The actress has gushed about Johnny, according to British newspaper The Sun.

"He lights up a room," she is quoted as saying. "He looks even better close up. Johnny is a wonderful, special person."

Amber starred as Johnny's character's love interest in The Rum Diary. When she was promoting the movie she revealed he chose her for the role.

The pair haven't commented on their relationship status but they have been spending increasing amounts of time together. They were spotted together in Las Vegas earlier this year and this week there were reports Johnny, 49, has splashed out on a horse for the 26-year-old star.

Amber is bisexual and confirmed she was dating a female photographer in 2010.

"I love men. I go where my heart takes me. I'm like any girl a sucker for romance," she has said.
