Amitabh Bachchan's 'Sharaabi' completes 32 years

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has been ruling the Bollywood film industry for almost five decades now. He sets a benchmark for each and every role he plays. His roles in films like 'Don' and 'Shahenshah' are remembered even today.

One such film which gave him recognition was the 1984 film 'Sharaabi.' Well the film has completed 32 long years in the film industry and Mr. Bachchan is more than happier to share this good news. On May 16, 2016 he tweeted, "T 2259 - And 32 years ...!! of my film 'Sharabi' .. amazing moments and times !! Abhishek on set."

The film was directed by Prakash Mishra and also featured Jaya Prada, Pran, Om Prakash, Bharat Bhushan and Ranjeet in pivotal roles. Amitabh showcased a drunkard, spoilt brat yet caring and kind hearted of a rich father who does nothing to earn his living. 

Some famous dialogues from the film like "Mooche ho to Nathulalji jaise ho ... varna na ho" and "Sharaabi ko sharaabi nahi toh kya pujari kahoge ... gehun ko gehun nahi toh kya jwari kahoge" are even remembered today.

The film was based on Steve Gordon's 1981 film Arthur starring Dudley Moore.
