Anupam Kher clocks 35 years in Bollywood industry, credits Mahesh Bhatt for it

"My 1st film #Saaransh was released on the 25th Of May, 1984. It has been 35 years since then. I was 28 & I played a 65yr old #BVPradhan. It seems like a long journey. I've a long way to go.🙏😍 #35YearsOfAnupamKher," Tweeted versatile actor Anupam Kher on the completion of 35 years for his 1st flick 'Saaransh' and in the Bollywood industry. 

Responding to his tweet filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt wrote, "Thank you Anupam for giving Saaransh your 'life' . As our late Sanjeev  Kumar said "Anupam was born to play this role".  Gratitude 🙏 @AnupamPKher"

To which Kher replied, "Thank you Mahesh Bhatt saab for your faith in a 28-year-old newcomer in Mumbai and giving him the best role of his life. You changed my life forever. Love and gratitude and much more for a lifetime."

'Saaransh' was directed and co-written by Bhatt starring Rohini Hattangadi, Soni Razdan, Madan Jain, Nilu Phule. It was a story about an old couple coming to terms with the death of their only son. Kher went on to win a Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Bhatt took home the trophy for best story. 

Ever since then there was no looking back for the actor with 500+ films, several plays and 2 times National Film Award recipients. With an illuminous career and goodwill across the borders, he established acting school in India named 'Actor Prepares' in the year 2005. He was last seen on silver screen playing India's former PM Manmohan Singh in the movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister'.
