Anna Kendrick: My new movie is ‘odd and technical’

13th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Anna Kendrick says filming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was unlike anything she had ever done before.

The 25-year-old actress stars opposite Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman in the film, which is an adaptation of the popular comic book series Scott Pilgrim. The movie sees Michael’s titular character fighting the seven evil exes of his dream girl in order to win her heart.

Anna plays Scott’s sister Stacey, who attempts to guide Scott through his battle. The actress found the movie extremely challenging to shoot because of all the special effects and spent most of her time on set unsure about what she was doing.

“It was definitely really kind of odd and technical, because of the way that it looks,” Anna told Interview magazine. “The process was definitely unlike anything I've ever done before. Like there's a scene where I'm on the phone with Michael Cera and we had to do a split screen, so I had a little earpiece in my ear. I was listening to the footage that he'd already shot, and I just had to like fit my lines into the space in between his lines.”

Despite the challenges the cast faced during filming, Anna thinks the finished movie looks incredible. She can’t wait to see what fans think about it as it is like nothing else that has ever been made.

“I mean you know the film is really tight,” she said. (C) Cover Media
