(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Anne Hathaway accidentally gave a man a black eye after getting carried away while filming a fight scene for the new Batman movie.

The 28-year-old actress has landed the role of Selina Kyle, whose alter-ego is the seductive Catwoman, in The Dark Knight Rises, and is already proving she is tough enough for the part. Anne was recently shooting a high-octane sequence involving a gun, when she managed to thrust the butt of the weapon into a stuntman's eye.

"Anne got a bit carried away during a fight scene and mistakenly shoved the butt of the gun right into the actor's eye socket," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "He came away with a massive black eye - Anne was mortified."

Anne was mortified when she realised she had hurt her co-star and was keen to make up for the injury. She decided to splash out on an expensive silver pen and had a special message engraved on it which read, "Remember no one packs a punch like Anne."

"It was all in good humour but the poor guy took quite a pummelling," the source added.

The Dark Knight Rises will see Christian Bale reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Gary Oldman is also returning as Commissioner Gordon. Other new additions to the cast include Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
