It is very common for actors to have encountered injuries on sets while performing stunts, but the latest incident with Hrithik Roshan has certainly got the actors and filmmakers thinking.

 

Hrithik had to go through a surgery after a brain clot was detected, attributed to his injury while performing stunts for his film 'Bang Bang'  (Read News).

 

Filmmakers are now 'truly' assessing and even challenging the standards when it comes to stunt-performance in their movies.

 

And it was Akshay Kumar, who has come out in the open to express his overall concern on the topic. 

 

Akki, who recently was a victim of a stunt gone bad on the sets of 'Pistol', shared that although Bollywood production companies do their bit by setting up precautionary measures for stunts, they get a reality check when they are pitted against the safety measures employed by international stunt teams.

 

Akki added that in the end, actors have to do their due diligence and be proactive when it comes to covering all the bases before performing the stunts. In his case, he always checks his harness before a stunt, he test drives the cars that he would be using for the stunt, and he ensures that he is part of every pyrotechnical rehearsals so he along with the team can walkthrough every aspect of the sequence step by step. 

 

Akki further shared that he for sure fears for his safety, but he never lets his fear control him, and it is one's adrenaline that helps keep one alive and stops the artist from running into fatal incidents.

 

Akshay finally advised that every artist should think twice before they decide to perform any form of stunt for their movie, and in this highly competitive industry, one does get tempted to go over-the-edge with signing up for a 'career-changing' stunt, but they should always consider their family and their future in the equation prior to signing up for the gamble. 

 

Let's hope that the industry takes Hrithik's incident as a blessing in disguise to focus more on the stunt-performing techniques, and our actors truly assess their stunt prior to signing up for one.
