Maverick filmmaker Manirathnam couldn't fetch success with his previous movie 'Villain' that had Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Prithviraj in lead roles. But this time he is sure as shooting stars as he doesn't to want to go for any modernized adaptation of mythological books, but directly convert the famous novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' written by Kalki. The film will be made bilingually in Tamil and Telugu with Mahesh Babu, Vijay and Arya donning the lead roles. The latest buzz we got to hear is that Anushka will be signed for playing female lead role. A.R. Rahman has been signed for scoring music while Santhosh Sivan is expected to work on cinematography. Manirathnam is busy now finalizing other actors as well. It looks like the official confirmations about the project and complete details about cast and crew will be announced by end of this month.
