Anushka Sharma was critically acclaimed for playing a dual role of an actor as well as a producer in her first maiden venture 'NH10'. However, the actress has decided not to romance the camera in her next.
Anushka's next venture is a quirky comedy flick based in Mumbai. Her brother Karnesh Sharma confirmed the news saying, "No, Anushka will not be acting in this one. We'll go in for a new cast."
Akshat Verma, who penned Aamir Khan's 'Delhi Belly', will make his directorial debut with this project. Akshat happens to be Karnesh friend, hence when a big banner backed out at the last minute, Anushka came as a savior and gave a nod for it.
Karnesh said, "I heard the story when another studio was producing it and really liked it. Things didn't work out and around five months ago, in November, Akshat came to us and we will be producing it."
"Akshat is in Los Angeles. He'll be back in a week's time and we'll work out the details then."
Anushka, who fearlessly experimented in her debut venture will follow the same in next as well. Her brother further adds, "As a production house we are not fixated on a particular genre. It can be a dark thriller, a laugh riot or a family drama, we are game for anything exciting as long as the concept is fresh. Every film will be made within a budget that will make it a viable proposition."
The duo is in talks with few more production banners to co-produce the film with them.
