Amma Creations T Siva is one of the smartest producers and understands the business of cinema.

Siva was supposed to release his period drama "Aravan" directed by Vasanthabalan on 10th February but has postponed it to 24th February.

Vasanthabalan’s "Aravan" is a big budgetperiod film based on Su. Venkatesan's novel Kaaval Kottam. It has Aadhi,Hansika, Archana Kavi and Pasupathy in the lead roles, with Kabir Bedi, Anjali and Bharath appearing in a cameo role.

The film would mark noted playback singer Karthik's debut as a music director.

There is a good buzz about "Aravan" which at one time UTV was negotiating, but the deal did not take place. The high cost of the period film has made Siva quote a figure which was not there for a Aadhi film.

Siva got the film censored and it has got an ‘U’ certificate. The state panel who saw the film has exempted it from entertainment tax, which is now a major plus for the film.  "Aravan" ‘tax free’ has made the film hot in the trade.
