Arjun wants to do meaningful cinema now

5th November 2012

Model turned actor Arjun Rampal has been in the industry for quite some years now. From being criticized for his acting to lifting the National Award for his performance in 'Rock On', Arjun has certainly come a long way.

He who has proved his mettle with decent performances in 'Rock on', 'Ra.one', 'Raajneeti', etc. feels that he should be doing more story based films henceforth.

"Films that lack good scripts but are made on big budgets, are not my cup of tea any more. I need to work in a film that has a smart screenplay. I have discovered this comfort zone late in life, but it's a welcome feeling. I am in a happy space right now. It took me a while to find like-minded people who I could befriend and work with," said Arjun who is elated with the success of his recent film Chakravyuh

"People will be surprised to hear that 'Chakravyuh' has recovered its money already. It is not important to join the 100-crore club. Spending huge sum on a film and then gaining position in 100 crore club is pointless. The purpose of making a film is to educate, entertain and recover its money back," added Arjun.

The actor who is high on doing character roles and story based films is currently in Ahmedabad shooting for Nikhil Advani's spy thriller 'D-Day'
