The actor stars alongside Natalie Portman in the movie, which follows two long term friends who decide to introduce sex into the equation. The 32-year-old has been married to fellow actress Demi Moore since 2005 and admits his intense commitment to his wife means he is unable to fully relate to the movies content.

Oh man, Ive been married for, I dont know five or six years, been together for eight years, so I dont think those words describe me, he explained to the American edition of OK! magazine.

In spite of this, Ashton does think the film will surprise audiences. The star believes the movies realistic take on relationships will strike a chord with many couples.

I think that people are going to appreciate the candour of the movie. I think people are going to appreciate that it is modern and that it is funny, and I think people are going to appreciate that theyve finally made a movie with women and men where the women are just as raunchy as the men, he added.
