Ashton Kutcher has been gifted an $8,000 watch by Two and a Half Men bosses.

The American star took over on the TV show after Charlie Sheen was sacked following his meltdown last year.

He plays a different character to Charlie, taking on the role of a multi-millionaire called Walden Schmidt. Bosses of the show have been thrilled with his performance so far.

"CBS execs are so happy with Ashton they gifted him with an $8,000 Vacheron Constantin wristwatch," National Enquirer reports.

Ashton was delighted with the Swiss timepiece, but couldn't resist poking fun at Charlie at the same time.

Charlie famously went off the rails during a trip to New York City in 2010, when he accused a woman of stealing his watch from his hotel room.

"I promise I won't lose it to a porn star at the Plaza Hotel," Ashton supposedly giggled.

Later a crew member remarked how nice the watch was, telling Ashton he'd have no excuse for not knowing the time.

"Yeah, it's time to sell a watch on eBay," he is said to have remarked.
