It looks like his fast popularity has made Bollywood newcomer Ayushmann Khurrana a little more demanding than he's supposed to be.
The actor who made his debut under John Abraham's production 'Vicky Donor', signed a couple of interesting films for his journey further; one amongst which was acclaimed filmmaker Kunal Kohli's next production.
The film for which Ayushmann was signed was touted to be a romantic comedy for which the actor confessed to be very excited. But all his excitement fizzled out when one of his conditions was not fulfilled.
Ayushmann demanded that he would like to do the film opposite an established A-list actress, but when Kunal casted a comparatively newcomer opposite him, Ayushmann decided to simply walk out of the film.
"I walked out of the film as my condition to work with an established actress was not fulfilled," said Ayushmann who further gave justification for the same.
"It is not that I have become a star, I am working with a newcomer in Rohan Sippy's film already. But in a rom- com, pairing is very important. Since that wasn't happening, I was forced to opt out of the project. Kunal is a very senior director, I would love to work with him," said Ayushmann keeping the slate clean on his side.
But this has hugely upset Kunal who exclaimed that it was unprofessional of Ayushmann to do that.
"Ayushmann is one film old. He can have a wish list of actresses, but he should be realistic about who wants to work with him as well. I have always cast actors according to the role. It is quite demeaning for anyone to say X or Y actress is small. No one should talk like that. It is sad newcomers like Ayushmann are thinking like that. I cast according to the role," said Kunal.
And now that the project has been dropped completely, Kunal expressed his views on his microblogging page stating, "Ayushmans reasons were demeaning to other actresses. Sad a newcomer thinks likes that. Real stars/actors don't. Anyway, moving on :-)"
He further added, "Also I was looking to produce a small film with him. Budget didn't work out. I'd rather concentrate on other projects."
