(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David and Victoria Beckham are poised to move to France following reports the soccer star has joined Paris Saint-Germain.

According to French newspaper Le Parisian, David has agreed an 18-month contract at the Paris-based soccer club. He is currently signed to US team LA Galaxy.

Negotiations are believed to have taken some months, but the couple will move to the French capital next month.

"It's done! After four months of negotiation, the capital's club has just received an agreement in principal from David Beckham for the signature of a contract of one-and-a-half years," the newspaper reports. "He will sign the document next January."

The 36-year-old sports star will reportedly earn 800,000 euros a month after tax in the new deal a total of 4.5 million euros during his contract.

However, that figure is expected to be greatly increased due to a lucrative marketing contract which is included in the agreement.

Fashion designer Victoria is believed to be thrilled with the move. She has been checking out apartments to rent in Paris and bigger properties on the outskirts of the city.

The deal will also reportedly include a new family home in the area, where the couple can raise their four children.

Their three sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, six have already secured places at local schools.

Qatar Sports Investments, who own PSG, are said to have offered the Beckhams "anything they want" to persuade them to make the move from America.

David's five-year contract with LA Galaxy ends on December 31. The family are expected to arrive in France a few days later.

However, a spokesperson for David has denied he has already signed a new deal.

"No agreement with any football club has been reached," the representative said. "Any talk of a deal is premature. David is considering his options."

A source close to David has claimed the star might even stay on at LA Galaxy, after the soccer team won the Major League Soccer title last season.

The former England captain has also been linked with a return to the English Premier League. But David has admitted he would struggle to play for any English team apart from his former club Manchester United.
