Bethenny Frankel: I blamed myself for miscarriage

13th June 2012

Bethenny Frankel says she asked doctors if it was her "fault" when she suffered a recent miscarriage.

The 41-year-old has daughter Bryn, two, with husband Jason Hoppy and has recently launched her own talk show.

In a revealing interview with Glamour magazine, the reality star turned entrepreneur shares that her pregnancy was "high risk" because of her age but she still blamed herself.

"'You're 41. You had bleeding. There's nothing you could have done,'" Bethenny's doctor told her. "And I hadn't done anything."

"Since I'd found out, I'd been lying down for an hour or two every day and lettings others take up the slack. But I blamed myself - of course I did."

And a few days later Bethenny got the call to say she would have had another girl.

"[The doctor] told me that the tests came back as female fetus, normal,'" she shared. "He was reading off a chart, reassuring me that there wasn't some chromosomal abnormality. But all I heard was female,' and I fell to pieces."

"I was picturing Bryn with a little sister, Two little girls in rain boots".
