Beyonc Knowles is "proud" her daughter is growing up in a world where there are so many strong women.
The singer and her husband Jay-Z welcomed their first child into the world in January. Their daughter is called Blue Ivy and Beyonc is determined that she will grow up to be a fearless, independent woman.
The star has written an open letter to US First Lady Michelle Obama on her website, in which she praises her for being a fantastic role model.
"Michelle, thank you so much for every single think that u do for us I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to (sic)," she wrote.
Beyonc and Jay-Z are known to be big supporters of US President Barack Obama, having recently attended a fundraiser in his honour.
The singer has been impressed with the way Michelle has juggled raising two daughters with living in the public eye.
"Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. She is a caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!," she wrote.
"No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope she's humble, loving and sincere (sic)."
