The war of words between top Tollywood stars Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna hit the streets of Tirupati on Tuesday with fans and followers of both stars clashing with each other.

In response to the two stars spitting fire at each other and daring each other to face-off in the electoral arena, their fans clashed in Tirupati, the Assembly constituency of Chiranjeevi, and also in Nellore.

Trouble started when Chiranjeevi’s fans tried to burn Balakrishna in effigy, resenting his provocative and derogatory remarks against their hero in the VRC centre on Monday.

Intent on revenge, the fans of Balakrishna rushed to the spot and raised slogans criticising Chiranjevi leading to a dispute between both the groups.

Angry fans of Chiranjeevi said Balakrishna had no right to criticize the former PRP president, while followers of Balakrishna berated Chiranjeevi for passing barbs at their star hero. Police were present in large numbers to prevent any untoward incident.
