Brad Pitt wants to spend Christmas at a farm in Costa Rica this year.

The actor is eager to hire a whole ranch so he can celebrate the festive season with his partner Angelina Jolie and their six children.

He is hoping to splash out on renting a remote property in Latin America so the family can spend some quality time together out of the public spotlight.

"Brad has found a sprawling farm that he reckons will be the perfect place for the family to get away from everything for a while," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

It has been reported Brad has fallen in love with Costa Rica.

He is believed to be interested in purchasing a house there so he and Angelina can have more privacy in years to come.

"He loves the country and is considering buying some Costa Rican property so they can spend some time there when life gets less hectic for them," the source added.

Angelina has previously revealed she wants to spend as much quality time with her children as possible.

She has vowed to protect them from the attention surrounding her private life and has expressed her desire for a quieter existence.

"My kids will be needing me a lot when they hit their teens. If I know anything about being a teenager, I need to be braced to be spending a lot of time with all six of them and making sure I can be there for when they go through everything," Angelina said.

"So I'm sure I'll be working from home in some way. Maybe I'll get to write or something."
