(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Brandon Flowers claims he has a sinister, sexual being which he keeps hidden.
The Killers frontman released his debut solo record Flamingo this year, and has been touring to promote it. He admits his Mormon faith has impacted the kinds of songs he writes, previously saying they are certain things he doesnt touch on with his music because of his religion.
Brandon has now expanded on that idea, explaining he wouldnt what some parts of his personality to be immortalised. Uh, Ive often, I do, you know, weve all got our... hah... I definitely have a darker side. And a more sinister, maybe more sexual, being inside me that I think everybodys got, he said. And I believe that because of what I believe, and because of the way that I was raised, and as Ive got older, Ive leant towards Ive pushed towards being that positive force that I always talk about. Thats kind of where Id rather be. I know its frowned upon in art to put a muzzle on something. But I definitely do it.
Brandons mother taught him to pray as a youngster, and he still does so daily. Whenever possible he speaks to God out loud, although he often just converses in his head.
He finds the experience cathartic, and is in no doubt that it helps him get through the day.
One of the things Im most thankful that I got from my mother was that she taught me how to pray, he told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. And that communication that I have every day. And the benefits that I feel like I receive from it. Im very thankful for that. (C) Cover Media
