(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Catherine Zeta-Jones has returned to work following the revelations that she is suffering from bipolar II disorder.
The actress was photographed on the set of new comedy Playing The Field in Shreveport, Louisiana, which also stars Jessica Biel and Gerard Butler.
A spokesperson for the Welsh beauty confirmed last week that she recently spent five days at the Silver Hill psychiatric hospital in Connecticut to receive treatment for the condition, which is characterised by long periods of depression and bursts of mania.
But Catherine looked happy to be back at work as she laughed and joked with the cast crew. It has also been revealed she has already got her next project lined up.
The 41-year-old has been cast for upcoming musical movie Rock of Ages to play the villainous ultra-conservative wife of the mayor of Los Angeles.
The movie is set on Sunset Strip and tells the story of the infamous American road's wild 80s music scene. Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Mary J. Blige will also star.
Director Adam Shankman revealed that he knew Catherines mental health issues were about to be made public when he was discussing the deal with the actress.
"While we were talking to her representatives about doing it, she told us that was about to happen. I had a long talk with her about it and she's in the greatest space and spirits. We've worked together on numerous benefits and we have a great working relationship, he told E! Online.
"She said to me, 'Darling, I can't wait to get out there and sing and dance with you.' I am overwhelmed and honoured to have a woman of this stature gracing this cast." (C) Cover Media
