CBFC takes away the essence of 'Angry Indian Goddesses'

19th November 2015

Censor Board of film Certification has chopped off major portions of internationally acclaimed film 'Angry Indian Goddesses'.

They have strongly opposed a portion where they see a disrespectful reference to Hindu Goddesses in the film.

And the biggest sufferer of this is Tannishtha Chatterjee whose role is now next to a blink and miss appearance in the film.

A source says, "Major portions of the film have been hacked off by the Examining Committee. The biggest sufferer is actress Tannishtha Chatterjee  whose role has been reduced to smithereens."

Tannishtha said, "The film that fetched me so much acclaim abroad and the film that has been cut by the censors are two different entities. Now my role is almost nothing."

Producer has approached the CBFC Revising Committee and is his hoping for the restoration of the cuts.
