(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheens representative Stan Rosenfield has decided to resign, although he cares about him very much.
Two and a Half Men actor Charlie has been hitting the headlines lately as it has been revealed the eighth season of the show is being cancelled it had been put on a break after Charlie was hospitalised having spent two days allegedly partying with porn stars before receiving rehab treatment at home.
The latest drama affecting the actor is Stans resignation, with the rep claiming he can no longer work with Charlie.
"I worked with Charlie Sheen for a long time and I care about him very much, however, at this time, I'm unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned," he told TMZ.
Stans decision to quit came after Charlie made a live video interview appearance on website TMZ insinuating his rep had lied to the media on his behalf following the October 2010 incident where he reportedly trashed a hotel room in New York and was hospitalised.
When Mike Walters asked Charlie about the statement saying he had been hospitalised on the night due to an allergic reaction, the actor replied; "I was asleep when that statement went out.
"I respect Stan... he was doing the best he could in that moment... had I confirmed with him, I probably would have come up with something better."
TMZ has also claimed that Charlie is demanding that Network CBS and production company Warner Bros. pay him for the eight episodes of Two and a Half Men that have been cancelled. Apparently top litigator Marty Singer has sent a letter demanding full payment, which is believed to be around $16 million.
Meanwhile, the actor made a last-minute appearance on Piers Morgan's CNN show last night, where he explained the incident where he was hospitalised back in January.
"I hadn't done any [drugs] for awhile, like seven hours, but I had this hernia thing that was popping out. I won't take [pain pills], so I maybe hit the vodka a little too hard to reduce the pain," he explained. He labelled the occurrence as "that final push, that final drop down the falls".
In other Two and a Half Men news, CBS chief executive officer Les Moonves has reportedly been talking to actor John Stamos about taking over from Charlie in the sitcom.
"They were at the bar talking and Les asked John if he'd be interested in replacing Charlie," one source at the Beverly Hills Hotel told E! Online.
"It wouldn't be to play Charlie's character but they talked more about introducing a new character." (C) Cover Media
