(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlize Theron doesn't feel like a single mother because her dogs love her son so much.

The Hollywood star surprised the world when she announced she had adopted a baby boy called Jackson earlier this year. Charlize assures fans she isn't finding it hard to care for the child as her pets have been helping.

"From the moment this baby came into our home, those two dogs have never been more in love," she laughed to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "People keep saying, 'Oh you're a single mom,' and I'm like, 'Actually I'm not!'"

Charlize's pooches are called Berkley and The Pitt. It is The Pitt who has taken a particular shine to the little boy.

"The Pitt woke up with me for every feed, for every change," she laughed, "and whenever the baby would cry, The Pitt would start crying."

The 36-year-old added motherhood wasn't a snap decision for her. She began the adoption process two years ago, but it took some time for her to get the intricacies planned out.

Jackson came home with her when he was nine days old and she still gets emotional thinking about it.

"My mom said the most beautiful thing I'm going to cry. She said, 'It took me nine months to fall in love with you were growing in my stomach.' She's like, 'It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby,'" Charlize recalled.

"It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it's finally there. It just feels exactly how it's supposed to feel. I don't know how to describe it. It just feels right." (C) Cover Media
