(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Cher could have caused Christina Aguilera a lot of damage if she hadnt been so kind to her while filming Burlesque.

The performing arts legend stars in the new film alongside American singer Christina, and it tells the story of a small-town girl who goes to work in a city dance club run by a former show artist.

It marks Christinas acting debut and the 29-year-old has previously admitted Cher, who has starred in many movies, is her idol.

The 64-year-old realised Christinas vulnerability and made sure that she looked after her instead of allowing her to be intimidated by her stardom and greater experience.

I think she was really nervous because the truth is she kind of had to put herself in my hands because if Id been a different kind of a woman I could have really done a lot of damage to her, Cher told British television programme Lorraine. [Instead] I said to her, You know you just have to know Ive got your back. Im there for you, I will help you if you need any help and work with you if you are not sure about a scene. If I see something that I think you could do better Im gonna say it but you just know Ive got your back and dont worry about it.

Grammy award-winning Cher admitted she loved filming Burlesque and would like to work on another movie for her next project.

Although acting and rehearsing for big screen productions is exhausting and challenging, she believes the end result is always worth it and she relishes the sense of satisfaction that acting gives her.

I think I would like to do another movie because Ive forgotten how much I like them theyre just so much fun to do them. Hard work, but I really like the outcome, Cher revealed (C) Cover Media
