Chris Martin says his children keep him grounded.

The Coldplay frontman revealed that going from touring the world to looking after his kids reminds him of what's important in life and gives him a realistic perspective for songwriting.

Chris has eight-year-old daughter Apple and six-year-old son Moses with his actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

While he is currently on the road with Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto Tour, his family is never far from his mind.

"We played Wembley Stadium and I was like, Wow, we are big rock stars'. But at six o'clock in the morning the kids were like, Get me some pancakes. And I was like, Oh, am I a rock star?' But that's what hopefully keeps your music real," he told British newspaper The Mirror.

Chris credited the "little people" with stopping him from developing an inflated ego.

Coming from a large clan with four siblings himself, the talented singer-songwriter is known to value his low-key family life.

"Just at the point where you would have got really big egos, we all have these little people who we are all responsible for and they keep us focused on what is really important in life," he added.
