(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Rock used his comic skills to help a pregnant lady who went into labour.

The 45-year-old actor and comedian was shopping at Neiman Marcus at the Garden State Plaza mall in New Jersey yesterday when he noticed a pregnant womans water was breaking just a few feet away from him.

The lady was about to step on to an escalator when Chris remarked the situation, and reportedly used his gift for comedy to help her remain calm.

The Grown Ups star, who has two kids with wife Malaak, used his trademark humour to keep the woman -- and a crowd of concerned shoppers -- calm until an ambulance was called, reported Us magazine.

It wasnt just the mother-to-be Chris entertained; apparently onlookers were also treated to some of his comedy routine. It is thought most people, including the pregnant lady, had recognised the star.

"He was making the crowd and the woman in labour laugh," a source added. "She recognised who he was immediately and he stayed there until the paramedics took her away."

There has yet to be a report on the mother and her childs condition. (C) Cover Media
