(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Aguilera has been named as a vocal coach on a new talent show.

It has been revealed the singer will be giving advice to new artists on American television series The Voice. She will be joined by fellow coaches Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green in the show which will be presented by Carson Daly.

Christina is thrilled with the opportunity and she cant wait to start working on the new venture.

"I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists' careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms," Christina said in a statement yesterday. "I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice."

Series creator Mark Burnett knew Christina was the perfect choice for the role of vocal coach. He is a huge fan of her singing talents and he is looking forward to seeing how she can help budding musicians.

"When I decided to produce The Voice, I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera," he said in a statement. "Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of The Voice."

The Voice is due to be aired in the US on April 26.

This is good news for Christina, who has had a rocky time in recent months. She filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman in October last year. On Tuesday the 30-year-old star was arrested in West Hollywood for public intoxication and taken to a police cell until she could sober up. Her boyfriend Matthew Rutler was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). (C) Cover Media
