The singer stars as Ali Rose in new movie Burlesque. Ali is a small-town singer who makes the move to Los Angeles to try and launch a career in showbiz, and is taken under the wing of nightclub owner Tess, played by Cher.

Christina loves the part, but found completing the gruelling dance routines for it played havoc with her figure. She lost weight but has since put some of it back on, and is thrilled with her curvy shape.

She is obsessed with burlesque star Dita Von Teese and wants an hourglass shape like her, a source told Closer magazine. Christinas husband Jordan Bratman loves Christinas burlesque routines at home and she wants a soft womanly body rather than a hard, skinny one.

Christina was so keen to make her part in the film believable, she is said to have turned to Dita for tips. Dita is a renowned burlesque performer, best known for her raunchy routine involving an over-sized martini glass.

She asked Dita for some coaching on the more technical aspects of burlesque dancing, a source has previously said. "She doesn't want to have to use a double for anything if she can help it." (C) Cover Media
