Christina Hendricks doubts Emmy success

15th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Hendricks hasn't prepared a speech for the Emmys as she thinks winning is a "long shot".

The 35-year-old actress is office bombshell Joan Holloway in the hit AMC show. The Emmy nomination is the second for the star in the role.

Christina is unconvinced about the pending awards ceremony, and thinks she doesn't stand a chance in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category.

The beauty is up against Kelly MacDonald, Michelle Forbes, Archie Panjabi, Margo Martindale and Christine Baranski.

"I'm not preparing a speech. There are some pretty extraordinary actresses in that category. I hate to say it, but I think it might be a long shot," she told Parade magazine. "But I'm super excited - especially since the show is nominated, too."

Christina is currently filming the fifth season of Mad Men after a long hiatus, due to a dispute between AMC and the show's creator, Matthew Weiner.

The red-headed beauty is thrilled to be back in character.

"We're already on our fourth episode," she revealed. "It's just really amazing to be back at work. I wish I could tell you what's going to happen, but I can't! Matt Weiner is such an amazing writer and I'm always surprised where he takes the characters next. It's always beyond what I ever could have imagined. These characters are just getting richer and richer as the seasons go on."

Christina loves being back on set with the rest of the Mad Men cast, which includes Jon Hamm and January Jones.

The stunning star has revealed that she gets a little anxious before filming starts.

"I'm lucky enough to get to see a bunch of those guys throughout the year, but we're always sort of nervous when we go back. It's like the first day back to school and there's this exciting energy," she explained.

"Even though it's been almost a year break, it's sort of incredible how it all just slides back into gear. For this season, we've made ourselves an outdoor patio, so we can all sit and hang out together on breaks. We've got plants and a fountain out there, so that's our big new thing this year!"
