Christina Hendricks thrilled to work with London Fog

25th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Christina Hendricks was thrilled to star in London Fog’s new advertising campaign because the trench coats are so “body conscious”.

The actress is well known for her role as Joan Holloway in US drama Mad Men, and has been praised for her voluptuous figure. Christina appears in the fall campaign for the classic brand – which is best known for its outerwear - and models several different trench coats. Her favourite look was a slim-fitting one which accentuated her curves, with the star joking she would like to wear it over nothing at all for complete sex appeal.

“It is very body conscious and I love all the details... but if you want to walk out into the real world and not get arrested…,” she laughed to ET Online. “They are so flattering, it feels like a dress. I think it is nice with thin, pencil-shaped pants underneath and something low. Very simple. It is always good over a black dress, too."

The campaign was shot in black and white by Nino Muñoz in Los Angeles, and will start to pop up in October issues of fashion magazines.

Christina explained another reason she was happy to win the role was because it links so well to Mad Men. The show is set in the world of 1960s advertising, and trench coats are a key look among the characters.

“London Fog is a classic brand, which I love,” she said. “It also ties in to Mad Men. We used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together. The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone - it worked in the 1960s and it works now.” (C) Cover Media
