CID Producer Brijendra Pal Singh appointed new FTII Chairman

Brijendra Pal Singh who was the vice chairman of the FTII governing council of Pune has stepped up as the Chairman now. The former chairman Anupam Kher recently resigned and stepped down from the Film and Television Institute of India FTII's prestigious designation due to his work commitments.

Thus, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on Thursday appointed Brijendra Pal Singh, director-producer of the popular crime investigation series C.I.D., as the new President of FTII and the Chairperson of the FTII governing council. Singh was earlier the Vice-Chairman of the FTII governing council and also an alumnus of the Pune institute. The institute officially made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday evening.

FTII official twitter handle shared a picture of him and captioned it, "Congratulations to Shri Brijendra Pal Singh on his appointment as President of FTII Society and Chairman of FTII Governing Council."  Even Gulshan Grover was also one of the contenders for the top spot.

"Yes, I'm unable to take this up. I would have loved to be of service to the future generations of cinema and I truly stand behind what the FTII believes in and stands for." We congratulate Brijendra Pal Singh for his promotion as the new FTII Chairman.
