Claire Danes triumphs at Emmys

24th September 2012

Claire Danes was victorious at this year's 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The Homeland actress picked up a trophy in the Best Actress, Drama category for her work on the political show.

Claire, who is currently pregnant with her and husband Hugh Dancy's first child together, thanked her spouse for all of his support when she walked up to the podium.

"My husband, my love, my life, my baby daddy: This doesn't mean anything without you," Claire gushed with trophy in hand.

"I love you so much and I'm so grateful. Thank you."

Modern Family was also extremely successful.

The hit TV comedy triumphed in the Best Comedy, Best Supporting Actor and Best Directing for a Comedy Series.

Comedy underdog Louis C.K. shocked as he beat out Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreation, and Lena Dunham, Girls, in the Best Writing for a Comedy Series category. Louis also picked up an award for Best Writing for a Variety Special, winning over the 65th Annual Tony Awards and the 84th Annual Academy Awards.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and comedian Jimmy Kimmel presented the programme.
