(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Daniel Radcliffe was "chasing chaos" when he became dependent on alcohol.

Earlier this year the actor revealed that he had become reliant on drinking while he was filming the Harry Potter series.

The 22-year-old has since quit the habit and has had time to reflect on how his life has changed.

"449 or so days ago but who's counting was my last drink," he said in an interview with British magazine Total Film. "I just felt like I was chasing chaos and making my life difficult, all the time thinking I was having fun."

Daniel began playing the iconic boy-wizard when he was just 11.

He started drinking alcohol heavily while filming 2009's Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.

The star used to hate not being able to remember his actions from the night before.

He now feels much healthier and happier and relishes knowing he hasn't embarrassed himself if he's spent the previous evening with friends.

"It feels very nice not to be putting myself in danger, to be waking up in the morning and not thinking, Oh my god, who am I going to hear from? What did I do?'" he explained. "It's a life lived without dread and fear and it is lovely." (C) Cover Media
