(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette was shockingly eliminated from Tuesday night's Dancing with the Stars show, despite rave reviews from the judges.
The Hollywood actor had dazzled the panel and audience alike with his vampire-themed Cha-cha-cha with professional partner Kym Johnson.
The energetic routine garnered him straight eights for an impressive total of 24.
His score put him level with soccer player Hope Solo and also in front of TV commentator Nancy Grace, who only earned 21 points.
The hit show's judging panel were complementary of David's performance.
While Len Goodman said he'd "turned himself into a dancer," Carrie Ann Inaba told the high-profile star that his improvement on the show had been "phenomenal".
Meanwhile, Nancy and professional partner Tristan MacManus failed to impress with their Halloween-themed jive.
Judge Bruno Tonioli told the 52-year-old that her messy footwork had cost her the performance.
"Nancy my darling, I think the devil got you. Your shoes are too small!" he quipped.
Despite his elimination, David was gracious in defeat after his seven-week run on the popular dance show.
The 40-year-old star admitted that being a part of the programme had been a great experience.
"This whole thing has been incredible. But there must be a mistake!" he joked after learning of his defeat.
"I came here to get to know more about myself, face my fears, and have America get to know more about myself, and dance. Self-worth, a pride in standing up for myself, sort of opening myself up.
"Dancing with the Stars was an experience of a lifetime and it's something everyone should challenge themselves with because you learn a lot about yourself."
David took to his Twitter page after finding out his fate to thank Kym for her patience and friendship on the show.
"@kym_johnson Thank you for everything Kym. I love you. Everything happens for a reason and I can't wait to dance with you again (sic)," he wrote.
He also took the time to pay tribute to his fans.
"I want to thank all of the fans for you're support and love. I'm honored that you took the time out of you busy lives to help (sic)."
David's success on the show comes after a difficult few months. He separated from wife Courteney Cox last year and spent time in rehab. (C) Cover Media
