David Hasselhoff arranged a "jaw-dropping" Christmas surprise for his girlfriend Hayley Roberts.

The Baywatch star and his Welsh girlfriend have been together for almost a year.

Hayley is celebrating the holiday season with the 59-year-old in his home in Los Angeles.

However, as she is used to colder climates the 32-year-old had been struggling to get into the festive spirit.

"Because it's so sunny in Los Angeles, I hadn't been feeling Christmassy at all and was missing the build-up at home," she told the UK edition of Hello! magazine.

"David and I went out for dinner and while we were gone he arranged for the house to be decorated as a surprise."

The actor organised for the house to be covered in fairy lights, bought a Christmas tree, brought in bulging sacks of presents and even laid out some fake snow.

"I had ten guys do it," David explained.

"When we pulled up at the gate and Hayley saw the house all lit up her jaw dropped. And when we stepped inside she went Wow!' There was Christmas music playing a revolving tree and a roaring fire. She looked so excited.

"Even though it was still only November we ended up having our own special Christmas night, curled up in front of the fire. It was very romantic."
