Bollywood’s leggy lass Deepika Padukone recently has beaten Katrina Kaif by bagging the role of a female lead opposite Rajinikanth in the film "Kochadaiyaan" which was originally offered to Katrina. The film is a Tamil flick which is an ambitious project for the team.

Deepika is especially excited for the fact that this is her second film with the south Indian superstar as before signing this deal she had also signed "Rana" which was stalled later due to Rajinikanth’s ill health. The team found no luck with "Rana" as they failed to revive it but the progress over "Kochadaiyaan" is relieving. "Rana" is still on the back burner but with "Kochadaiyaan" Deepika is happy to get another opportunity to act with Rajinikanth.

“I am eagerly waiting to start the work with Rajini Sir, It’s an exciting news for me,” said Deepika. Lets hope with this even "Rana" someday sees the light of the day.
