September 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kannada film director Ashok Patil has returned from the USA with a plan to make his third film titled 9 to 12. Software professional Patil has earlier directed the movies titled Shaapa and Joke Falls.
The director has teamed up with Chicago based software Engineer called Kannadiga Nandish Dhananjay and his Bangalore based dental surgeon Kiran Murthy as the producers of this movie. Patil has always given priority to high quality in his films.
The new movie 9 to 12 is said to be a suspense thriller interspersed with emotions and comedy. The movie will be shown on the big screen with less than two hours of duration and the shooting will be completed in 25 days.
The cast of the film includes the director's elder brother BC Patil, who is now a Congress MLA from Hirekerur. BC Patil was cop earlier, who later turned into an actor, director and producer. Ashok has earlier directed his brother in his movie Shaapa, which bombed at the box office.
South Indian actor Kishore has been signed to play the role of taxi driver. Actress Smitha will be seen selling vegetables. Ashok was inspired to make this by reading a report in the newspaper of a taxi driver.
The first shot of the movie was captured at the Kanteerava studios on Wednesday morning by former deputy CM Siddaramaiah switching on the camera.
Actor BC Patil was quoted saying that 9 to 12 is going to be the best thriller movie after Nishkarsha, which was his home banner debut film. The actor will be seen playing a cop, who has a realistic approach.
The shooting of the film will be done on the route from Bidadi to Yelahanka. The director has located the spots with cameraman Niranjan Babu, who said that 80% of the scenes will be shot with night effect. The music of the movie will be composed by music director Sai Karthik.
