Born Mark Sinclair Vincent, he changed his name when he was a bouncer at a night club. Abbreviating Vin from Vincent and using the nickname Diesel as all his friends said he never ran off diesel fuel, referring to his non-stop energy.
Vin got into acting at a very young age as his step-father was an acting instructor and theatre manager. He made his first stage debut at the age of 7. His involvement in plays then came about when one day he, his brother and a few friends broke into a theatre and were caught by the theatre director. Instead of imprisoning them, they were asked to be a part of a play. From then on, Diesel knew his passion was acting.
He got very involved in theatre acts and plays, but due to his mixed heritage, he found it difficult finding roles.
Diesel's first film role was in the movie 'Awakening', but he wasn't recognised much for it. Later he produced, directed and starred in the short-film 'Multi-Facial'. His ability to perform great action scenes were seen in movies like 'The Fast and the Furious', 'Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' and 'XXX".
'Fast Five' was a movie with a phenomenal performance and it still feels fresh whenever anyone catches it on T.V.
