(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elisabeth Moss is nervous about the effects of the fake herbal cigarettes she has to smoke for Mad Men.
The 28-year-old American actress is best known for her portrayal of copywriter Peggy Olson in hit US drama Mad Men. The programme is set in the 60s, and sees many of the characters partying and smoking.
Elisabeth and her co-stars such as Jon Hamm, John Slattery, January Jones and Christina Hendricks all smoke false cigarettes and she has joked about the fears she has for her long-term health.
By law were not allowed to smoke indoors, so the cigarettes are fake herbal. Ive no idea what the health repercussions of those are. I guess well find out in 20 years! she laughed in an interview with Empire.
John - who plays advertising mogul Roger Sterling on the show - was quick to criticise the herbal cigarettes too, admitting its difficult to look suave while smoking them. The programmes characters are often seen enjoying alcoholic beverages too, and John lamented that he and his co-stars are actually drinking a bizarre water-and-onion based concoction.
Those things are terrible! Theyre like smoking sand. You take a drag and youve got half the cigarette in your mouth and half on your pants. Youre trying to act smooth and youre on fire! Oh, and the martinis? A glass of warm water with onion in it, he added. (C) Cover Media
