(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elizabeth Banks says she decided to use a surrogate mother because of a "womb issue".
The 38-year-old actress opened up in the February issue of Lucky magazine to talk about her nine-month-old son Felix.
The Hunger Games star and her husband Max Handelman fell "madly in love" after meeting in college but found it difficult to conceive when they decided to start a family.
"It was a womb issue for me," Elizabeth revealed. "Embryos wouldn't implant."
Although Elizabeth is delighted with her baby boy, she says that it was initially difficult to take the surrogacy route to parenthood.
"It's a big leap, inviting this person into your life to do this amazing, important thing for you," the blonde beauty said. "And it's hard losing that kind of control. But our surrogate is so extraordinary, and she's still in our lives. She's like an auntie."
Elizabeth says Felix is "fierce and fearless" and she cannot wait to have adventures with him when he gets a bit older.
"My plan is that when Felix is 15, we'll go skydiving together," she shared. "I want to be that mom. The one who takes her kid skydiving." (C) Cover Media
