(Cover) - -No story type selected- - Elizabeth Hurley knows people think her romance with Shane Warne is "odd", but she's having fun "exploring" it.

The model-and-actress has been in an on/off relationship with the Australian former cricketer for several months. News of the romance was the reason Elizabeth publicly revealed she had split from her now ex-husband Arun Nayar in secret, as many thought she was having an affair.

Shane has a reputation as a womaniser while Elizabeth is renowned for her cut-glass vocals, so she knows many are struggling to comprehend why they are together.

"We come from very different worlds so I see that's fascinating, if not odd, to many," she told the British edition of Grazia magazine.

"But it's not often you meet people you instantly feel comfortable with, and when you find that even if there are vast differences in background and experience it's worth following through. When you recognise you have a lot in common with someone it's nice to explore. The biggest problem is we're 23 hours apart. It's a challenge. We'll see what happens."

Although they are no longer together, Elizabeth and Arun are still close. She is similarly fond of her ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant, who she dated for many years.

Elizabeth has son Damian, nine, with ex-partner Steve Bing. Arun raised the child as his own while they were together and she wants to make sure he remains in the boy's life.

"Hugh and Arun are my two best friends. And I wouldn't have it any other way I would feel bereft if it was. When someone has been so instrumental in your life you can't cut them out. It's like trying to annihilate your past," she said.

"Arun has raised Damian since he was a few months old and is absolutely Damian's father, while Hugh is a very hands-on godfather. Hugh and Arun also get on well and we'll have more holidays where we all go away together." (C) Cover Media
