(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Blunt tries to avoid starring in movies which are crass.

The 27-year-old British actress is best known for her performance in period drama The Young Victoria, although she has also impressed in comedies such as The Devil Wears Prada and Sunshine Cleaning.

Emilys decision to appear alongside Jack Black in new family movie Gullivers Travels seemingly represented a change in career direction, which was something she found exciting. She was drawn to the project mainly because, despite its comedy elements, the film refrains from relying on vulgarity to gain laughs.

Id never been in a family movie, she told Cover Media. I heard that Jack was involved and I really liked the script, it was very witty and charming.

I think thats quite hard to find in comedies. I think it quite often veers into being quite crass.

Emily is very proud of the movie, which is based on an 18th-century novel by Jonathan Swift. The film sees Jacks character Lemuel Gulliver stranded on the island of Lilliput, which is inhabited by little people. Emily portrays the islands Princess Mary and she is confident the script will appeal to all ages.

I just loved the dialogue and the heightened way the all the Lilliput people spoke. I was charmed, she enthused. (C) Cover Media
