(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emily Blunt says she sought inspiration from the mean girls at her school when making My Summer of Love.

The 28-year-old British actress is tipped as one of Hollywoods most promising stars of the future, having already wowed critics with performances in films such as The Devil Wears Prada, The Young Victoria and The Wolfman.

One of Emilys breakthrough parts was playing a spoiled young lady in 2004 independent drama My Summer of Love, and she admits to channelling the mean girls at high school when preparing for the role.

Emily never felt she fitted in as a youngster, and the star has confessed that she longed to be accepted by her peers.

I was bullied, she confided to The Daily Beast.

I remember those popular girls at school. There was a light around them and youre wanting to be a part of that light. Youre wanting to be with them.

Despite launching her career in the realm of independent cinema, Emily has gone on to become a blockbuster-worthy actress. She is currently promoting romantic thriller The Adjustment Bureau, in which she stars opposite Hollywood hunk Matt Damon. Emily admits shes conscious of the need to appear in various genres, as she doesnt want to be too closely associated with either arthouse movies or commercial ones.

"If you do something thats not an independent movie and youre known to be the indie girl, thats seen as a snub, but really its important to mix it up and I think Ive tried so hard to do that," she added. (C) Cover Media
