2nd December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Eminem has been nominated for an impressive ten Grammy Awards.

Last night the nominees for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, the American honours for outstanding achievements in the music industry, were revealed, with Eminem being the most-nominated artist.

The rapper received nods including Song and Record of the Year for Love the Way You Lie, which also received a nomination for Best Rap Song. He is also up for Album of the Year for Recovery, which is nominated for Rap Album of the Year too.

Most of the main nominations were announced live during a special one-hour concert held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Rap star LL Cool J hosted the event, and stars such as pop singer Katy Perry and country songstress Miranda Lambert performed. Katy kicked off the evening with a performance of her smash-hit single California Gurls.

Bruno Mars follows Eminem as the next most-nominated artist, having received mentions in seven categories, while Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga all have six. B.o.B and John Legend also earned a respectable five nods.

The Best New Artist nominations were particularly interesting as they spanned many genres, with musicians ranging from Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & the Machine, Mumford and Sons and Esperanza Spalding in the running for the prize.

"Wow, it feels amazing. I can't believe I'm in this position," said Justin Bieber live via satellite from London upon hearing the news. "I don't think of myself as a superstar. I think of myself as a normal person living my dream."
